In this week’s session, we are going to look at how rule-based concept extraction works. Last
week’s session described grammatical concept extraction, and it might seem like that technique
was also rule-based. Of course, in a way, it was. However, in grammatical concept extraction,
the rules we were using were dictated by the language itself- things like parts of speech and voice. True rule-based concept extraction goes a step further and allows us, as the developers
of a semantic application, to specify rules that will make our tool more powerful and precise.
